For recent graphics cards support you have the choice of SNAP in VBE
(VESA) mode or Panorama which is supposed to be an accelerated VESA
driver - not sure about that myself as my only attempts to install
eCS2.0GA with that driver ended in failure.

Recent mainboards may need ACPI support - part of eCS2.0GA - and you
want to avoid any mainboard that uses AHCI with no BIOS option to set
   that to "compatibility/IDE".

Uniaud is probably your only choice for sound support.

Support for the nic may be problematic... Look for a mainboard using a
supported nic chipset. Mensys have developed a driver for current/recent
*wired* Intel nics and a Realtek driver is also being developed, see
http://svn.ecomstation.nl/multimac for details of chipsets supported by
these drivers. Also check if genmac offers support for the nic(s).

So, basic advice: Look at mainboard specs and pick a mainboard that
looks like it has driver support for the various onboard devices.
