GMT)       .os2.ecomstation:810       From: rcpj@panix.com (Pierre Jelenc)                     I am in the process of gearing up toward buying a new computer, and I        would like to get something with some flavor of Linux pre-installed, on        which I can then add eCS 2. Knowledgeable Linux persons have suggested the        following two vendors:               http://www.system76.com        http://zareason.com              Are their systems compatible with eCS? (Mostly low/lowish-end desktops,        but I could consider a laptop if it wasn't too expensive.) What should I        look for or avoid in terms of things like video/sound, CD/DVD (at least CD        burner and DVD player), etc? My ancient Dell is slowly losing its wits, so        I do not intend to recycle any of its hardware.              Thanks,              Pierre              --        Pierre Jelenc         The Gigometer www.gigometer.com        The NYC Beer Guide www.nycbeer.org              --- Internet Rex 2.31        * Origin: Public Access Networks Corp.
