   I cannot, looking around, find trace of any operating system taking heed    
   of the PaP BIOS Specification, which specifies ES:DI as a pointer to a    
   PaP table, either.  That convention, which the new EDD proposal that I    
   mentioned before claims to build upon and extend, my MBR bootstrap code    
   *does* adhere to, nonetheless.  (It preserves the ES:DI from the    
   firmware and passes it to the VBR.  All of the operating system    
   bootstraps that I've checked so far immediately zap the ES register,    
   though.)
