   maybe... it could easily be another one recovering from a crash and starting   
   with restored configs and echo areas... then the operator just didn't think to   
   stop the mailer, let the tosser scan for outbound mail and then delete that   
   mail before starting the mailer back up... this used to be taught to all   
   sysops when they were starting... it all but disappeared when that   
   "BBS-in-a-box" mess came out back in the 90s and anyone could throw up a BBS   
   without any training or assistance...
