Just wanted to check -- did you find any references in the source code to
qwkpoll creating the qwkmail.out semaphore on QWK mail imports?
I tried running strings on the qwkpoll binary and it seems that there is some
kind of reference there:

The first qwkpoll run is performed by a semaphore event looking for a
qwkpoll.now semaphore (created manually by me to trigger a poll).
The second qwkpoll run is performed by a semaphore event looking for a
qwkmail.out semaphore (which appears to be created by the previous qwkpoll
run).
