   I was thinking the same thing, you just know someone out there would be   
   polling 1:* 2:* 3:* 4:* hourly.  Some sanity checking would need to be built   
   in for sure.   
      
   Maybe limit wildcards to the node level only?  (e.g 21:3/*)
