   (MM) Send mass e-mail looks at Real Name

   Hello g00r00!

   Just an observation --

   I noticed that the (MM) Send mass e-mail function, when chosing to post
   to a list of users, appears to be looking at (and using) the Real Names
   setting of the currently selected message base rather than that of the e-mail
   base (ID 1).

   Example:

   (in the message menu, in a message area with Real Names: No)

   SysOp Commands

   (/J) Message Group Editor (/E) Message Area Editor (/M) Mass PM
   (/*) SysOp Menu

   Group....: Local
   Area.....: Private Messages (PMs)
   Command (9832 minutes left) -> /M

   Send mass PM by/to:

   (1) ACS Level
   (2) List of Users
   (3) All Users

   (Q) Quit

   Command -> 2

   Enter username or search string.
   Press Enter to end.

   0 user(s) in list. Enter username: Zip

   Do you mean Zip? Yes No (selecting Yes)

   1 user(s) in list. Enter username:

   User mailing list:

      Zip

   Send mass PM to this list? Yes No (selecting No to abort)

   ...which is correct; my Private Messages e-mail base (ID 1) has Real Names: No.

   Then, after switching to another group and a message base with Real Names: Yes:

   SysOp Commands

   (/J) Message Group Editor (/E) Message Area Editor (/M) Mass PM
   (/*) SysOp Menu

   Group....: FidoNet
   Area.....: MYSTIC: Discussion and chat about the Mystic BBS software
   Command (9833 minutes left) -> /M

   Send mass PM by/to:

   (1) ACS Level
   (2) List of Users
   (3) All Users

   (Q) Quit

   Command -> 2

   Enter username or search string.
   Press Enter to end.

   0 user(s) in list. Enter username: Zip

   Do you mean Zip? Yes No (selecting Yes)

   1 user(s) in list. Enter username:

   User mailing list:

      Bj”rn Wiberg

   Send mass PM to this list? Yes No

   And if I select Yes and let it post, it does post the mass e-mail using the
   real name (as displayed in the list) rather than using the handle.

   By the way, in doing so, it appears to change message area (but not message
   group):

   Group....: FidoNet
   Area.....: Private Messages (PMs)
   Command (9825 minutes left) ->

   ...but that is perhaps expected, as the e-mail base (ID 1) is not
   traditionally participating in the message group concept, as you have already
   explained to me earlier. :)

   Although it would be nice if it switched back to the previous message base
   after sending the mass e-mail. :)

   Best regards
   Bj”rn
