      Robert Loggia, Oscar-Nominated Actor, Dead at 85        December 4, 2015 @ 06:30 PM / By Joyce Chen               The loss of a Hollywood legend. Scarface actor Robert Loggia died at his home       in Los Angeles on Friday, Dec. 4, Variety.com reports. He was 85.               His wife of 33 years, Audrey, confirmed his death to The Associated Press, and       said that she and the couple's daughter Cynthia were both at his bedside when       he passed. The pair also shared three other children.               "He was an awesome husband and an awesome father," she told TMZ.               Robert was perhaps best known for his part as drug kingpin Frank Lopez in 1986       hit Scarface, as well as his role as MacMillan Toy Company owner Mr. MacMillan       in 1988's Big, which starred Tom Hanks.               The versatile actor has also appeared in films as wide-ranging as An Officer       and a Gentleman, Independence Day, Problem Child, and Prizzi's Honor.               In 1986, the actor was nominated for a Supporting Actor Oscar for his part in       Jagged Edge, though the win ultimately went to Don Ameche for Cocoon.               His long and storied career continued on long past the '80s, however, with       roles on the small screen, on various episodes of The Rockford Files and The       Sopranos.               Audrey told TMZ that Robert had been suffering from Alzheimer's for the last       five years.                       Regards,               Roger              --- DB 3.99 + Windows 10        * Origin: NCS BBS -Houma, LoUiSiAna (1:3828/7)    |
