     Glad to be back.

JJ@> Thanks for the update of information. Sorry to hear that you had some
JJ@> major problems on your end. I had seriously something was wrong with
JJ@> this echo. I had checked with various sources and everything checked
JJ@> out. It looks okay now that I've heard from you.

If rebuilding the computer wasn't bad enough...at times, the Comcast
high speed internet was out...and the cellphone internet was much the
same. So, in effect, I was "cut off" from the outside world...except for
   amateur radio.

I had analog phone service several years ago, but construction crews
working out here SLICED the cables like a knife through butter...even
though they were CLEARLY MARKED. Then, it poured rain that night, with
water flooding the cables. The phone line quality was so bad with noise,
that you could hardly hear the other party...never mind trying to get a
   dial-up modem connection. I can't see paying $40 a month for a "bare
bones phone line". That works out to $480 a year...but I pay only $140 a
year for 2 MagicJack lines...you do the math.

JJ@> That sounds like a tragedy. Perhaps you can get e-mail and your
JJ@> website working later on. That is true that's it better to have
JJ@> something than nothing at all. I hope things look up for you! Again, I
JJ@> appreciate your daily bible verses. I should have an issue posted here
    JJ@> today or tomorrow.

Well, I got the website working, but I can't send or receive email from
the BBS. I was going to sign up with this "dyn smtp" server deal, but I
have to get a "validation message" from them, before I can proceed...it's
not a bad deal at $20 a year. But, I sent 2 messages from my Yahoo account
(had to switch to it, being unable to access GMail, due to a password loss,
and they don't provide enough opportunities to verify ones identity), and 1
from the DYN deal...but still no reply. I'm thinking Comcast is blocking the
   ports on that.

JJ@> Not a problem. It's good to hear from you!

I have the patience of Job when it comes to working with the computer and
BBSing...but sometimes, that is rough to work though. The humbling thing is
that usually when there's a glitch (like there was with the website), is that
the problem "is something simple"...and you feel like a fool when you discover
it. Been there, done that, got a load of T-shirts.
