-----------------------        - e-Ministries -        - by Jon Justvig -        - January 7, 2010 -        --------------------------------------------------------------------               Issue #: 6               [KJV] Gen 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this        that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent        beguiled me, and I did eat.                 Adam's wife, Eve was beguiled, or lied to, is exactly what happened.        The serpent told Eve that she wouldn't surely eat from the tree that        God had strictly forbidden. Because she was disobedient there were        coinsequences for what she had done.               [KJV] 2Co 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent        beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds        should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in        Christ.                Just like Eve, this happens everyday in our walk with the Lord. We        stumble and fall by disobeying our Lord; even with simple subtle        things that don't seem wrong at all. We do this in the sight of our        Lord, regardless of what it is or how much we think it is okay. We        must take our Bible with us and keep his Word in our thoughts and        resist the temptations of the devil. Always be on guard, take every        thought captive.               [KJV] Gen 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou        hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle,        and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly        shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days        of thy life:               [KJV] Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman,        and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise        thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.               This was the first punishment God had given since he created the        Earth and all it's beings and beauty. The serpent as vile as he was        tempted Eve to eat of the unforbidden fruit from the tree of        Knowledge. Something we should know nothing about. By our own        curiousity, we sometimes seek things we shouldn't. After all, we        are only human.               The serpent was the most cursed. Have you ever been to the zoo and        seen a serpent? To my own sight, they look very wicked. If they        could talk, I wonder what they would say. Nothing at all that we'd        like to listen to, I'm sure.                [KJV] Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy        sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt        bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy        husband, and he shall rule over thee.                For those women out there that have delivered a baby, you understand        this pain and sorrow during labor. This is God's second punishment.        Because the woman was disobedient, then shall all women carry this        burden. God was serious about when he said you would surely die.        If you didn't die, you would sometimes which you had with all the        pain you go through. There is one more punishment after this one.               [KJV] Gen 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened        unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the        tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt        not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in        sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy        life;                It wouldn't be at all fair for just the serpent and Eve to take        punishment without Adam. After all, he ate of it as well as Eve.        So what happened to him is that he work the ground for food,        assuming before the eaten the fruit, he didn't need to work the        ground, he could have just eaten from the tree of life and        everything would have been fine.               [KJV] Gen 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to        thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;               [KJV] Gen 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till        thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast        thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt        thou return.                 God was very serious about death by eating from the tree of        Knowledge, good and evil. He gave them life, gave them a beautiful        garden to live their whole life. Now it has been taken away from        them as punishment. Sweat, blood and tears. Thank goodness of our        saviour which read more about later.               [KJV] Gen 3:20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was        the mother of all living.               Eve is such a beautiful name and what better name to be given to the        first woman from the start.               [KJV] Gen 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make        coats of skins, and clothed them.               For some reason or another, ever since our eyes have been opened we        have been ashamed to see our naked body. It must be because of        shame and disobedience towards our God from this very beginning. So        now Adam and Eve both have clothes.               [KJV] Gen 3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as        one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put        forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and        eat, and live for ever:                 God is referring to one of us as in the whole body of God. He is        is the vine and we are his branches.               [KJV] Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the        garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he        was taken.                [KJV] Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east        of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword        which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree        of life.               For now the Tree of Life is now forbidden fruit and it shall never        be eaten from again; so we are forced to die. Imagine what it would        have been like for the whole world if the tree of life had never        been shut off from us and that we can eat from it forever. I cannot        possibly imagine the though.               Remember to do go and be obident to our Lord. Study and read your        bible daily and remember to ask the Holy Spirit for guidance when        you read. He will surely bless you beyond what you can imagine. Is        your cup halfway full? Do you wish it was full and overflowing so        you can carry a bigger cup? One door closes and one door opens!         Follow and respect our Lord. There's no telling where He might lead        you. For sure, he will lead you to a life of abudancy!                If you've enjoyed our meeting, remember to ask your SysOp to carry        MINISTER, an echo with FidoNet if he/she doesn't already. Remember        also to keep your head up high. May God bless you and keep you!               *** This conclude this issue of e-Ministries provided by Jon        Justvig.              --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag        * Origin: Nightfall Ordain (1:298/5)    |
