e-Ministries       by Jon Justvig       March 12, 2013               Issue #: 18              Gen 13:1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he       had, and Lot with him, into the south. Gen 13:2 And Abram was very rich in       cattle, in silver, and in gold.              Abram was truely blessed and in good standings with the Lord and we will see       how so.               Gen 13:3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Bethel, unto the       place where his tent had been at the beginning, between Bethel and Hai; Gen       13:4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and       there Abram called on the name of the LORD. Gen 13:5 And Lot also, which       went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.        Gen 13:6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell       together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.              There seems to be conflict between Abram and Lot and all their possessions       where they cannot live together. Seperation begins.               Gen 13:7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the       herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in       the land.        Gen 13:8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee,       between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be       brethren. Gen 13:9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I       pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the       right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.              Abram prayed to Lord and between him and Lot to go in seperate directions,       taking it upon Lot to decide which direction they shall turn.               Gen 13:10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan,       that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and       Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou       comest unto Zoar.        Gen 13:11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east:       and they separated themselves the one from the other.               Taken as so, Lot chose to move to the east because of the land there was great       and there was a good water supply from the Jordan river. And, Abram is still       deciding which direction he shall move.              Gen 13:12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities       of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.               We will soon see the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah as it was written.              Gen 13:13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD       exceedingly.        Gen 13:14 And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from       him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward,       and southward, and eastward, and westward: Gen 13:15 For all the land which       thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.              Wickedness and destructiveness is not in the eyes of our Lord, we are to do       good and to love. We are not to lust, have greed and envy towards others.        Lot was somewhat in the middle at this point and the Lord has said in all the       land outside of it will he suppliment and flourish as Abram had the Lord's eye       in favor of him.               Gen 13:16 And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man       can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered.               Could you imagine counting every grain of sand from the dust of the earth? To       get an idea, it will be great to the point where it seems like forever and       that it will be so large that it cannot count as the Lord knows each of the       hairs on our heads before we were even born.              Gen 13:17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth       of it; for I will give it unto thee. Gen 13:18 Then Abram removed his tent,       and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there       an altar unto the LORD.               Abram went to the plain, flat land of Mamre and had built an alter there.        That is all the time we have for now. I hope you are truly blessed by reading       these issues from e-Ministries and encourage to spread the Word of the Lord to       others as you have been blessed to bless others. Lets think of love at this       point and time and be selfishless and care for others before yourselves as God       will take care of you while you take care of others and everyone will prosper.              ***              If you've enjoyed our meeting, remember to ask your SysOp to carry MINISTER,       an echo with FidoNet if he/she doesn't already. Remember also to keep your       head up high. May God bless you and keep you!               *** This conclude this issue of e-Ministries provided by Jon Justvig.              --- BBBS/LiI v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Nightfall Ordain -- http://vintagebbsing.com:8080 (1:298/5)    |
