e-Ministries       by Jon Justvig       February 22, 2013               Issue #: 15              A new world has begun and it has begun with Noah and his sons.              Gen 10:1 Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and       Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood.              This is where it can get confusing and a long line of generations follow after       this verse.               Gen 10:2 The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and       Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.              Noah had three sons; Shem, Ham and Japheth. Jepheth is first mentioned and       his sons follow as Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.               Gen 10:3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. Gen       10:4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.              Two of Noah's grandchildren from the decendent of Gomer and Javan are       mentioned. Gomah had three sons, Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. And,       Javan, he had four sons; Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. Just to name       a few, this long list is just the beginning. You have to be a saint if you're       still following along.               Gen 10:5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands;       every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.              Now we see seperation of the families into many nations.              Gen 10:6 And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan.              We have mentioned Jepheth, now we're speaking of Ham. Ham had four sons;       Cush, Mizraim, Phut, and Cannan. We have read about two of Noah's sons and we       will have to keep following along.               Gen 10:7 And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and       Sabtecha: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.              One of Ham's sons was named Cush, he had five sons, Seba, Havilah, Sabtah,       Raamah and Sabtecha. After that, we have sons of Raamah, two sons, Sheba and       Dedan. Are you still with us? Thank goodness!              Gen 10:8 And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.              After Cush had five sons and Raamah had two sons, Cush had another son named       Nimrod. According to this scripture, he is mighty!               Gen 10:9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even       as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.               Mighty indeed, a great hunter is Nimrod.              Gen 10:10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad,       and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.              Nimrod started a kingdom and in his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad and Calneh       in the land of Shinar, or, in other words, land of lords.               Gen 10:11 Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and the       city Rehoboth, and Calah,        Gen 10:12 And Resen between Nineveh and Calah: the same is a great city.              Three great cities are now built, Nineveh, Resen and Calah. How glorious!               Gen 10:13 And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,        Gen 10:14 And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (out of whom came Philistim,) and       Caphtorim.              Mizraim, son of Cush had seven sons, Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim,       Pathrusim, Casluhim, and Caphtorim.               Gen 10:15 And Canaan begat Sidon his firstborn, and Heth, Gen 10:16 And the       Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgasite, Gen 10:17 And the Hivite, and       the Arkite, and the Sinite, Gen 10:18 And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite,       and the Hamathite: and afterward were the families of the Canaanites spread       abroad.               Canaan, another son of Ham, had eleven sons and named this family or group of       people, the Canaanites. Their names are Sidon, Heth, just to name a couple       comes forth more nations namely Jebusites, Amorites, Girgasites, Hivites,       Arkites, Sinites, Arvadites, Zemarites. All derived from Canaanites. That's       a lot of Ites!              Gen 10:19 And the border of the Canaanites was from Sidon, as thou comest to       Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest, unto Sodom, and Gomorrah, and Admah, and       Zeboim, even unto Lasha.               The land broadens from Sdon to Gerar, Gaza until we reach Sodom and Gomorrah       which we'll talk about the latter two in the future. Then there was Admah,       Zeboim, and Lasha              Gen 10:20 These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their       tongues, in their countries, and in their nations.              There you have it, the sons of Ham. We've covered two of Noah's sons, Japheth       and Ham. Finally, we've reached his next son, Shem.              Gen 10:21 Unto Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the brother       of Japheth the elder, even to him were children born. Gen 10:22 The children       of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.               Shem's children are as follows. Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud and Aram were his       sons.              Gen 10:23 And the children of Aram; Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.              Aram's sons were Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash.               Gen 10:24 And Arphaxad begat Salah; and Salah begat Eber.              Arphaxad had a son, Salah and his son, Eber.              Gen 10:25 And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in       his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.              Salah's son, Eber had two sons and their names were Peleg and Joktan. Peleg       soon to be nations divided.               Gen 10:26 And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,        Gen 10:27 And Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah, Gen 10:28 And Obal, and       Abimael, and Sheba, Gen 10:29 And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these       were the sons of Joktan.              Sons of Joktan, Salah's son had thirteen sons, Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth,       Jerah, Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, Obal, Abimael, Sheba, Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab.               Gen 10:30 And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest unto Sephar a       mount of the east.       Gen 10:31 These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their       tongues, in their lands, after their nations.               Shem's family; Wow! If you've made is this far, you've got it! Quite a list       to follow, but once you break it down, it's not so bad.              Gen 10:32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their       generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the       earth after the flood.               Nations dividing nations after the flood of Noah's Ark. If you think you've       had it bad, think back to this and how inspirational it is to find the       founders of nations. God's plan was to seperate us after the fall of Man       (Adam) and created nations from the decendents of Noah. I hope you have       enjoyed reading as much as I've enjoyed sharing the Word of God with you. May       God bless you and keep you!                     ***              If you've enjoyed our meeting, remember to ask your SysOp to carry MINISTER,       an echo with FidoNet if he/she doesn't already. Remember also to keep your       head up high. May God bless you and keep you!               *** This conclude this issue of e-Ministries provided by Jon Justvig.              --- BBBS/LiI v4.10 Dada-1        * Origin: Nightfall Ordain -- http://vintagebbsing.com:8080 (1:298/5)    |
