But I survived, so I'm a winner, still!                As long as we're still on this side of the grass.                GP> Yup, those olde Burma Shave ads. .                 Pentrex, who puts out railroad/train related DVD's (originally they       were in VHS format) put out a video "The Signs And Rhymes Of Burma       Shave". It covered the history of Burma Shave, and where it is today.       I'm not sure if you can buy the products anymore, but those who were       lucky enough to collect the old signs, those are now collectors items,       and probably worth quite a bit of money.                You can also search on the Internet for lists of these old rhymes,       as that's what I did to set up the daily posts with the Today In       History program.                Personally, I hate shaving with a passion...and in some countries,       the women don't shave their legs. With athletic swimming, though,       the athletes, male and female, shave the excess hair off of their       anatomies (possibly even in the groin area), because it has been       proven that hair is a drag on momentum/movement in the water. That       could keep them from winning a higher award, or in the case of the       Olympics, a more prestigious medal.                Of course, there's the "blonde joke" of the blonde who won a gold       medal, but went right out and had it bronzed. |
