I haven't listened to commercial radio for years either.
With podcasts and so forth there is no need for that, to me. And I can
ff past the ads they have.

   > I've downloaded, from the original oldtimeradio site I discovered last
millennium, a bunch of MP3s. including the Bickersons & a few of other
shows, like some of Abbott & Costello's routines (I had no idea they had done a
series on the "Who's on First?" type of punnistry.)

      I always liked the Bickerson's.
I adopted a stray cat years ago that a neighbour found wandering about.
I already had one not in the market for another. But I agreed to keep
her until her slave could be found. (Never did and she became very close to
   me).
I didn't give her a name because you know what happens when you name an
   animal.
She liked to wake me in the middle of the night for some attention.
One night half awake I said, like John, "Blanche, let me sleep" and
there was her name! Blanche Bickerson DuBois. The DuBois was from a Streetcar
named Desire were Blanche had "depended on the kindness of strangers".

What gets me are how all products claim they are better than the other
   similar products for sale.
I'm watching videos on automobiles, in order by year, make and model,
   etc.
Each year the companies claimed their current model was better than the
last year. "This year's car is a lot better than last year, which was
   junk".
(Currently I am near the end of 1957 run).
