   They knew they were about to be obliterated if they didn't return your people.   
      
   Whatever some might say about his policies, his party, his memory, etc.  He   
   was the man for the job when needed.   
      
   Made me wonder then, & ever since -- what the heck was Carter doing/thinking?   
      
   I'm normally a dove, but I would've been full "Ray-Gun" if any of my people    
   were being held by dangerous foreign nuts.   
      
   I guessv that's why I'm not im charge, among other readons.   
      
   When they held a few of our people in Mexico, Mexico would become a foreign    
   territory of Canada as their requet for forgiveness, & we'd finally have    
   somewhere warm, within "Canada" to go to for winter vacations!   
      
   You'd save a billion or ten in watching/defending your southern border!

   Even as we changed our marijuiana laws, we'd have respected yours until such    
   time you choose to update them to be different, & would never sell to even   
   your states who legalised it, because you're a country with a federal   
   government.   
      
   We'd hope, of course, the feds would relax things for states who choose to    
   legalize based on medical benefits (medicine is a strictly state purview, no?)   
      
   Even as lazy rabble rousers in entertainment (including news magazines)    
   criticise you, we, as a nation, generally want only the best for our big    
   brother to the south
