(a mister was just a master(employer)               In the South we were taught call others Mr and Mrs/Miss, until they gave       permission to call them by their first name.        And the same goes for sir/ma'am.        Sir/ma'am rolls off my tongue easily and naturally.        I have met young folks, usually Yankee's, who refuse to call someone with       that respect and call the others by their first names, whether they know       them or not. Sadly many Southerners are this way now.        And then, being a Southern gentleman, there is the honouric Mr/Miss with       a first name, Mr Jack/Miss Mary. Those are used for superiors of some sort.        And when Miss evolved to MS that was easy since Miss was often slurred       as Miz. :)               > He also promised an ear in every home & a camera on every corner -- with the       newer Windows that's been done, too.               Like Big Brother in "1984".        Joe       --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5        * Origin: Fidonet Since 1991 www.doccyber.org bbs.docsplace.org (1:135/392)       SEEN-BY: 1/120 123 15/0 18/0 25/0 21 30/0 80/1 90/1 103/705 105/81       SEEN-BY: 106/201 116/116 120/340 123/0 25 40 115 126 131 160 180 190       SEEN-BY: 123/200 755 129/305 330 135/300 366 371 379 382 383 384 385       SEEN-BY: 135/388 390 391 392 153/7715 154/10 218/700 221/1 6 222/2       SEEN-BY: 226/30 227/114 229/110 206 307 317 400 424 426 428 452 664       SEEN-BY: 229/700 240/1120 5832 250/0 1 3 4 5 6 7 8 10 21 261/1466       SEEN-BY: 263/0 266/512 275/1000 280/464 282/464 1038 292/854 299/6       SEEN-BY: 300/4 301/0 1 101 113 123 317/3 320/219 322/757 335/364 341/66       SEEN-BY: 342/200 396/45 633/280 640/1321 712/848 920/1 3634/0 12 15       SEEN-BY: 3634/24 27 50 5020/1042 5058/104       PATH: 135/392 300 3634/12 250/1 301/1 229/426           |
