   The books are not bad at all. The film, practically follows the     
   book scene by scene.  It's fun quick read even for a grown-up.

   Fan fiction is something else.  I was referring to adaptations     
   of books to film/tv.   
      
   When there is news of an adaption coming along, the interest     
   for the book version increases - quite a bit.  For instance,     
   Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time is coming along to tv. The books     
   have already been redesigned with new covers and increased     
   prices. A new generation of people are therefore "discovering"     
   the series all over again.
