     IIRC that was a Ma and Pa Kettle film.  Pa Kettle was known not to talk a   
   lot.   
     There's the joke (attributed to many different people over the years)   
   where the host was having a dinner party and a guest was asked to say the   
   blessing.     
     He bowed his head and nothing was heard by the others.   
     The host asked the guest to speak up, no one could hear him.   
     He replied, "I wasn't talking to you".
