I have seen that happen before in a Dollar Tree.

There are DG stores all over out here in the country. They're in places
that a big box store would never locate ... and how DG is making a lot
of money. DG has a lot of good stuff that I don't have to drive 15
   miles into town to get.

JM> For general daily items Aldi is best for food.

Yep. Plus it's clean, quiet, and friendly. Just don't forget your
   quarter.

BTW, I used to work for a company that makes a lot of ALDI's house brand
   of cereal bars and crackers.

    JM> Sav-a-lot for meat.

Here, it depends on what you want. Food City, a regional supermarket
chain, has butchers that do a lot of custom cuts. Their meat prices are
good but if it's just me, Sav-A-Lot is good. ALDI also has good prices
   on meat here.

JM> DG for general household items.

I buy a lot of general household stuff at Dollar Tree. I also check out
   ALDI's special buys section.

JM> I very seldom buy name brand items. About 98 per cent of my items
JM> are store brand which is just as good as name brand.

In many cases, the generic stuff is the same thing as the brand name.

JM> Same food item, same process, just put in different boxes.

   Yep!

I do shop at Walmart for a few items that I cannot get anywhere else for
a decent price. I do like Walmart's brand of drink mix.

Right now, I can't do a lot of comparison shopping as my dad drives me
around. Once I can get Social Security and a car, I'll shop around yet
   again. I miss being independent.
