   i don't know when this method started but synchronet was our first exposure to   
   it... on the one hand it makes sense but on the other? nah...

   mystic took both methods from requests and those requests were based on the   
   users of other software asking for them...

   auto message area creation originated with the likes of gecho, fastecho and   
   others of that vintage...
