if mbse is precompiled non opensource its should install in /opt, if one
compiles local it should stick to fhs with /usr/local prefixing, simple to
   break things if one wants

when i get around to do the gentoo ebuild it would be using fhs prefixing with
   /usr

i will for the last time say:

/opt : is for optical packages that is not installed via opensource that
   is compiled local
/usr/local : bsd default make, make install, did you see freebsd use /usr ?
/usr : linux default native local compile prefixing

    Regards Benny
