       An example of how it does that in the code is as follows    
   (mbtask/mbtask.c):   
      
   snprintf(cfgfn, PATH_MAX, "%s/etc/config.data", getenv("MBSE_ROOT"));   
      
   One relatively easy way (besides that there are so many places where it would    
   need to be changed...) to correct it would be to use a different    
   environmental variable, perhaps MBSE_ETC or just MBSE_VAR, and drop that
