   It calls wrapper programs, and these programs use useradd and passwd. The   
   wrappers are there for security and check if the calling program is really   
   mbsebbs or mbnewusr.

   The main problems you will find is prepare the default accounts (mbse and   
   bbs). The bbs account must not have a password, but the mbse account needs   
   one and the user who installs mbsebbs should supply that password. I don't   
   know if emerge can handle that situation.   
      
   I think network access is as easy as dropping some files in /etc/xinetd.d   
      
   Best is to use a testbox (virtual or real) to test. Virtual is most easy   
   because you can reset that easy to a state without mbsebbs.
