|    First time install..    |
|    27 Aug 11 11:46:49    |
Hey guys, first time MBSE installer here.              I grabbed mercurial and got the latest .tar.gz (v0.95.13). The install went       flawlessly on a brand new Gentoo install.              I edited most of the configuration (mbsetup) to my liking and was finally going       to log on to the BBS for the first time to create the 'Sysop' per the       documentation.              This is where I ran into my problem. I entered my first and last name (which       matches my global setup in mbsetup), and then my password (and retyped). Then       it asked me for a unix name, to which I put 'nboel' which also matches the       global registration settings in mbsetup. At this point it kicked me back to my       linux shell, and almost rendered me useless. I couldn't see what I was typing,       my shell prompt was in the middle of the screen, which led me to just type exit       a couple times, bindly, to get back to a login prompt. After logging out and       back in, it was fixed.              I took a look at /opt/mbse/log/debug.log and found this:              MBNEWUSER v0.95.13       TERM=linux 128x48       Newuser registration       Name entered: Nicholas Boel       NameGen(Nicholas Boel)       Execute: /opt/mbse/bin/mbuseradd 1001 nboel Nicholas Boel /opt/mbse/home       Execute: returned error 1       Failed to create unix account              Has anyone else run into this issue?              Thanks and take care,       Nick       --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux        * Origin: thePharcyde_ telnet://bbs.pharcyde.org (Wisconsin) (1:154/10)    |
