That's how I got my internet       during college (I was REALLY poor).              I understand that dial-up internet speeds no longer suffice for surfing the       web. Many middle-america rural citizens still utilize dial-up services due to       the lack of broadband services.              On a somewhat-related note, I was considering porting the lynx text-based       browser as a bbs application that could provide those with low bandwidth the       ability to access web content through        the board. Has anyone explored this concept? Yes, I understand that this is       nothing like the old wildcat server, it's a different beast.              I ask this because I often use lynx at home for no other reason that I like       its speed and low memory footprint. And I thought it would be really cool to       expand a bbs in this way. Even if the       feature never becomes popular, I think it would be worth attempting.              Is this even possible?                     Daniel Traechin       --- SBBSecho 3.08-Win32        * Origin: Digital Distortion: digdist.synchro.net (1:340/7)       SEEN-BY: 1/123 10/0 1 15/0 2 18/200 19/36 34/999 90/1 102/401 103/705       SEEN-BY: 104/57 106/201 116/18 120/331 123/140 128/2 153/7715 154/10       SEEN-BY: 203/0 218/0 1 210 215 401 410 520 700 720 802 221/0 226/17       SEEN-BY: 227/114 229/354 426 452 1014 230/150 152 240/1120 5832 249/206       SEEN-BY: 249/317 400 250/1 261/38 100 266/512 267/155 275/100 280/464       SEEN-BY: 280/5003 282/1031 1056 291/1 111 292/854 300/5 6 317/3 320/119       SEEN-BY: 320/219 322/757 340/0 7 201 400 800 342/13 200 396/45 423/120       SEEN-BY: 633/280 712/848 770/1 801/161 189 2452/250 3634/12 5020/1042       PATH: 340/7 400 261/38 218/700 103/705 280/464 229/426           |
