   FWIW: my OS2 system is now eCS since 12 Aug 2012... but i brought all of my   
   base operations over from the previous Warp3 Connect system... that included   
   4OS2 2.51 and 4DOS 7.50...   
      
   i did try 4OS2 3.04a at one point on my Warp3 Connect installation but   
   switched back to 2.51 because of problems... i do not recall the details and   
   cannot locate my notes... it appears that the current release of the open   
   source 4OS2 is now 3.08 released 17 Nov 2011...   
      
      
   also previously someone mentioned that 4OS2 and 4DOS replace the command   
   interpreter... this is true but on an OS2 setup, 4OS2 can also replace the one   
   of the shells which it does on my system...   
      
   SET COMSPEC=X:\4OS2\4OS2.EXE   
   SET OS2_SHELL=X:\4OS2\4OS2.EXE   
      
   the above is standard on my system since deity created time ;)  i assume it is   
   the same for all OS2 systems that employ 4OS2...
