   my friend? yes, his changes get submitted back upstream... he is only a user   
   like myself... all changes have to be submitted upstream to the actual   
   maintainers for them to accept or deny...

   i can understand that... i use tortoise svn daily but have not really tried   
   tortoise git... IIRC, that's because i was unable to find a version that   
   supports my w2k dev box and works properly :/
