      Yes, I saw that flurry of CVS change notifications...  But if you're    
   done with those changes, why not go ahead and bump the version number and add    
   an entry for the changes to docs/history.txt?   
      
      I can see not updating that until the changes are done but I also believe    
   any changes should be marked by at least incrementing the patch revision level    
   ("p" of m.n.p) of the version number.  Makes it much easier to track, I
