   MONTENEGRO, 4O.  Chab, YT7WA is QRV as YT7WA/4O from Buljarice until   
   September 23.  Activity is on the HF bands using PSK.  QSL to home   
   call.   
      
   JAMAICA, 6Y.  Juergen, DL3JH is QRV as 6Y5/DL3JH until September 22.   
   Activity is on the HF bands using CW and SSB.  QSL to home call.   
      
   SPAIN, EA.  A group of operators will be QRV as EG5INT from   
   Columbretes Island, IOTA EU-069, from September 20 to 24.  Activity   
   will be on the HF bands.  QSL via EA5KA.   
        
   FRANCE, F.  Special event station TM34CDXC is QRV from Granville,   
   Normandy until September 22 in celebration of the 34th gathering of   
   the Clipperton DX Club.  QSL via bureau.   
      
   JERSEY, GJ.  Jim, G0UPG is QRV as GJ0UPG until September 15.   
   Activity is on the HF bands using mainly SSB.  QSL to home call.   
      
   ITALY, I.  Hubert, OE3FHA and Sal, IC8SQS are QRV as IC8/OE3FHA and   
   IC8SQS from Ischia Island, IOTA EU-031, until September 22.   
   Activity is on the HF bands and possibly 6 meters. QSL to home   
   calls.   
      
   DJIBOUTI, J2.  Christian, F5MBF is QRV as J28NC while on a three   
   year work assignment.  Activity is on 80 to 10 meters using CW and   
   SSB.  QSL via F5RQQ.   
      
   SVALBARD, JW.  Operators LA8DW and LA9HH are QRV as JW8DW and JW9HH,   
   respectively, from Spitsbergen until September 19.  Activity is on   
   the HF bands.  They will be active as JW5E in the SAC CW contest.   
   QSL JW8DW via LA8DW and JW9HH via LA9HH.  QSL JW5E via operators'   
   instructions.   
      
   GREENLAND, OX.  Operators OZ0J, OZ2JI and OZ1BII are QRV as OX/OZ0J,   
   OX3JI and XP2I, respectively, until September 17.  Activity is on   
   the HF bands depending on conditions and using mostly CW with some   
   SSB.  They will be active as XP2I in the SAC CW contest.  QSL to   
   home calls.   
      
   SWEDEN, SM.  Special event station SI9AM will be QRV from the King   
   Chulalongkorn Memorial in Ragunda on September 15 and 16.  Activity   
   will be on 160 to 10 meters using CW, SSB and FM.  This includes   
   being active in the SAC CW contest.  QSL via SM3CVM.   
      
   PALAU, T8.  Ulf, DL5AXX is QRV as T8XX until September 28.  Activity   
   is on 160 to 10 meters using CW.  He is active as T88UE on RTTY.   
   QSL both calls to home call.   
      
   TURKEY, TA.  A group of operators will be QRV as TC6GLH from the   
   Sinop Gerze Lighthouse.  QSL via TA1HZ.   
      
   ASIATIC RUSSIA, UA0.  Operators Victor, RU0ZM, Valery, UA0ZC,   
   Vladimir, RA0ZJ and Alex, UA0ZAM are QRV as home calls/p from   
   Starichkov Island, IOTA AS-095, until September 14.  Activity is on   
   the HF bands.  QSL to home calls.   
      
   MICRONESIA, V6.  Madison, W5MJ will be QRV as V63MJ from Pohnpei   
   Island, IOTA OC-010, from September 15 to 22.  Activity will be on   
   40 to 10 meters, and possibly 80 meters, using CW.  QSL to home   
   call.   
      
   CHRISTMAS ISLAND, VK9X.  Sadao, JA1PBV will be QRV as VK9XS from   
   September 16 to 19.  Activity will be on the HF bands using CW and   
   RTTY.  QSL to home call.   
      
   VANUATU, YJ.  Rod, YJ8RN is QRV as YJ8RN/p from Loh Island, IOTA   
   OC-110.  His length of stay is unknown.  Activity is mainly on 20   
   meters using SSB.  QSL to home call.   
      
   THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  ARRL 10 GHz and Up Contest, Scandinavian   
   Activity CW Contest, North American SSB Sprint, FISTS Get Your Feet   
   Wet CW Weekend, NCCC Sprint CW Ladder, SARL VHF/UHF Analogue/Digital   
   Contest, CIS DX QPSK63 Contest, South Carolina QSO Party, QRP   
   Afield, Feld Hell Sprint, Washington State Salmon Run and the WAB   
   144 MHz QRO Phone are all on tap for this upcoming weekend.  The Run   
   for the Bacon QRP CW Contest and 144 MHz Fall Sprint are scheduled

   designated a global "center of activity" frequency  in  each   
   of  the  international  hf  bands.  THese are similar to the   
   concept for weak signal calling and other center of activity   
   frequencies.  Three of these have been ratified worldwide.   
      
   THese  center of activity frequencies are where stations can   
   go to render or obtain emergency assistance.   
      
   WHen casually operating or  contesting  on  hf  please  make   
   yourself  aware  of  these  frequencies,  and give them some   
   space. Remember that often stations with emergency needs are   
   not  those  utilizing  high  gain antennas and maximum legal   
   power.
