   This week's bulletin was made possible with information provided by   
   QRZ DX, the OPDX Bulletin, 425 DX News, The Daily DX, DXNL, Contest   
   Corral from QST and the ARRL Contest Calendar and WA7BNM web sites.

   SPRATLY ISLANDS, 9M.  Operators John, 9M6XRO and Steve, 9M6DXX will   
   be active as 9M4SLL from Pulau Layang Layang, until August 13.   
   Activity will be on all bands from 80 to 10 meters using CW, SSB and   
   RTTY.  QSL via M0URX, direct or via the RSGB bureau.   
      
   SVALBARD, JW.  Torkel, LA6VJA will be active as JW6VJA from the   
   JW5E club station in Longyearbyen on Spitsbergen Island (EU-026)   
   between August 10 and 12.  Fredrik, LA6TMA, will also join him and   
   be active as JW6TMA.  Activity by JW6VJA will be mainly CW with some   
   SSB, while JW6TMA will be active mostly on the digital modes.  QSL   
   to their home call signs, direct or via the Bureau.   
      
   LAKSHADWEEP ISLAND, VU7.  Members of the Bangalore Amateur Radio   
   Club (VU2ARC) and a small group of amateur radio volunteers will be   
   active as VU7M from Minicoy Island (AS-106, WFF VU-103, ARLHS LAK009   
   and IND017 from August 13 to 22.  QSL direct or via the Bureau.   
      
   LEBANON, OD5.  Members of the Lebanese Army Ham Radio Group will be   
   active as OD5ARMY during the month of August to celebrate the   
   founding of the Lebanese Army.  QSL via OD5NJ.   
      
   MARKET REEF, OJ0.  Pasi, OH3WS/OG3A is now active as OJ0W until   
   August 10.  Activity will take place during his spare time.  QSL via   
   OH3WS.   
      
   NAMIBIA, V5.  Hans, DF2UU will be active from the end of August to   
   the middle of September as V5/DF2UU.  Activity will be on 160 to 6   
   meters.  He will also be active during some contests.   
      
   REUNION, FR.  Willi, FR/DF7RJ will be QRV from September 26 to   
   October 21, on 160 to 10 meters, using CW and SSB, with special   
   attention to the US and JA on the low bands.  QSL direct to his home   
   call.   
      
   TANZANIA, 5H.  Roland, DL4ME will be QRV as 5H3ME from August 14 to   
   September 3 with his son Mike, 5H3EE.  Operation will take place   
   on 80 to 6 meters in CW and digital modes.  QSL via home call.   
      
   COMOROS, D6.  Fabrizio, IW3SQY, Paolo, IV3DSH, Antonello, IT9YVO,   
   Franco, IZ8GCE, Giorgio, IZ4AKS, Les, SP3DOI, and Salvador   
   C31CT/EA3QS will be active as D64K until August 21.  They will   
   operate from 160 to 6 meters on all modes.  QSL via IV3DSH.   
      
   ST. PIERRE ET MIQUELON, FP.  Mike, VE2XB will be QRV as FP/VE2XB   
   from August 10 to 20 on all bands with a focus on 6 meters.  QSL via   
   VE2XB.   
      
   ENGLAND, G.  GB2012OLY is one of the special event stations for the   
   Olympics 2012.  QSL via M0DOL.   
      
   POLAND, SP.  Special event call sign SN63DNI will be QRV until   
   October 2 to remember the 63rd anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.   
   QSL via SP5NHV.   
      
   RUSSIA, UA.  Members of the AFARU (Armed Forces Amateur Radio Union)   
   will be active as R100WWS between August 10 and 18 to celebrate the   
   100th anniversary of the Military Air Forces of Russia.  QSL via   
   RV3YR.   
      
   INDONESIA, YB.  Members of the YB Land DX Club (YBDXC) will activate   
   the special event station YB67RI from August 10 to 17, celebrating   
   the 67th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.  QSL via YB2DX   
   direct or LoTW only.   
      
   NICARAGUA, YN.  Ben, TI4SU is QRV as HT9H to commemorate the 250th   
   anniversary of the Battle of the Rio San Juan.  QSL via TI4SU,   
   direct.   
      
   ALASKA, KL7.  From August 17 to 19, KL7XK/p, WL7CSJ/p, VA7AQ/NL5,   
   and VE7DP/WL9 will be QRV from Pleasant Island (NA-161).  Listen for   
   them on CW and SSB on 30, 20, 17 and 15 meters.  QSL via their home   
   calls either direct or via the bureau.   
      
   OPERATION APPROVED FOR DXCC CREDIT.  The following operation is   
   approved for DXCC credit: H44UD, Solomon Islands, 2012 operation.

   Maryland-DC QSO Party, Fall 6 Meter Sprint, Straight Key Weekend   
   Sprintathon, NJQRP Skeeter Hunt, and Feld-Hell Gridloc Sprint will

   designated a global "center of activity" frequency  in  each   
   of  the  international  hf  bands.  THese are similar to the   
   concept for weak signal calling and other center of activity   
   frequencies.  Three of these have been ratified worldwide.   
      
   THese  center of activity frequencies are where stations can   
   go to render or obtain emergency assistance.   
      
   WHen casually operating or  contesting  on  hf  please  make   
   yourself  aware  of  these  frequencies,  and give them some   
   space. Remember that often stations with emergency needs are   
   not  those  utilizing  high  gain antennas and maximum legal   
   power.
