   This week's bulletin was made possible with information provided by   
   DL6UAA, NC1L, VE1RSM, QRZ DX, The Daily DX, the OPDX Bulletin, DXNL,

   MAURITIUS, 3B8.  Members from the Mauritius Scout Association will   
   be QRV as 3B8MSA during the 53rd Scout Jamboree On The Air event.   
   QSL direct.   
      
   WEST MALAYSIA, 9M2.  Rich, PA0RRS is QRV as 9M2MRS from Penang   
   Island, IOTA AS-015, until April 2011.  He is active using mostly   
   CW.  QSL to home call.   
      
   MOZAMBIQUE, C9.  A group of seven operators are QRV as C91DJ, C91MV,   
   C91DL, C91KW, C91AV, C91GF and C91JR until October 31.  They will be   
   active as C91MS in the 53rd Scout Jamboree On The Air event.  They   
   will also be an entry in the upcoming CQ WW SSB contest as C91WW.   
   Activity is on the HF bands using mainly SSB, but also some CW, RTTY   
   and PSK31.  QSL C91WW via GI4FUM and all others via operators'   
   instructions.   
      
   SOUTH COOK ISLANDS, E5.  Bill, N7OU will be QRV as E51NOU from   
   Rarotonga, IOTA OC-013, from October 18 to November 13 while on work   
   assignment.  Activity will be in his spare time on 40 to 10 meters.   
   QSL to home call.   
      
   BALEARIC ISLANDS, EA6.  Adrian, AA5UK will be QRV as EA6/home call   
   from Ibiza, IOTA EU-004, from October 16 to 27.  He is active   
   holiday style on 160 to 10 meters using mostly SSB with some digital   
   modes.  He may also try some satellite activity.  QSL to home call.   
      
   MARTINIQUE, FM.  Andy, DL3GA is QRV as TO3GA until October 20.  He   
   plans to be active in the Worked All Germany contest.  Outside the   
   contest activity is on 160 to 10 meters, and possibly 30 meters   
   using mostly CW, with some SSB, RTTY and PSK.  QSL to home call.   
      
   ISLE OF MAN, GD.  Some members of the Isle of Man Amateur Radio   
   Society will be QRV as GT1IOM during the 53rd Scout Jamboree On The   
   Air event.  QSL via GD1MIP.   
      
   US VIRGIN ISLANDS, KP2.  Cory, N1WON is QRV as KP2/home call until   
   October 19.  QSL to home call.   
      
   BONAIRE, PJ4.  Andy, W9NJY will be QRV as PJ4/home call from   
   Bonaire, IOTA SA-006, from October 16 to 29.  Activity will be on 40   
   to 10 meters.  QSL via WD9DZV.   
      
   SABA AND ST. EUSTATIUS, PJ5.  Paul, K1XM is QRV as PJ5/home call   
   until October 17.  Activity is on 160 to 10 meters using CW, SSB and   
   RTTY.  QSL via KQ1F.   
      
   EGYPT, SU.  Some members of the Egyptian Radio Amateurs Society will   
   be QRV as SU8JOTA from Cairo during the 53rd Scout Jamboree On The   
   Air event.  Activity will be on 160 to 10 meters using CW, SSB and   
   digital modes.  QSL direct to SM5AQD.   
      
   TURKEY, TA.  Pavel, OK1MU, Dan, OK1HRA and Honza are QRV as TC03W   
   from Giresun Island, IOTA AS-154, until October 18.  Activity is on   
   the HF band using CW and SSB.  QSL via OK2GZ.   
      
   BENIN, TY.  Mario, DL2UX is QRV as TY1JB from Cotonou until October   
   28.  Activity is on 40 to 10 meters.  QSL to home call.   
      
   CANADA, VE.  J, VY1JA is QRV as VY0JA from Alert, Ellesmere Island,   
   IOTA NA-008, until November 17.  Activity is on most HF bands using   
   just CW.  This includes a possible entry in the upcoming November CW   
   Sweepstakes contest.  QSL via operator's instructions.   
      
   AUSTRALIA, VK.  Craig, VK4LDX/p, will be QRV from Fitzroy Island,   
   IOTA OC-172, from October 16 to 22.  Activity will be holiday style   
   on 40, 20 and 15 meters using SSB, RTTY and PSK31.  QSL to home   
   call.   
      
   TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS, VP5.  After his Virgin Island operation,   
   Cory, N1WON will be QRV as VP5/home call from October 21 to November   
   3.  This includes participating as a Multi Op operator in the   
   upcoming CQ WW Phone contest.  QSL to home call.   
      
   MACAO, XX9.  Georg, DK7LX is QRV as XX9TLX until October 26.   
   Activity is on 40 to 10 meters using CW with some RTTY near the end   
   of this operation.  Depending on conditions, he may try to be active   
   on 80 meters as well.  QSL to home call.   
          
   THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  Scout Jamboree On The Air event, JARTS   
   World Wide RTTY Contest, NCCC Sprint, Microwave Fall Sprint, ARCI   
   Fall CW QSO Party, New York QSO Party, Iowa QSO Party, Worked All   
   Germany Contest, Feld Hell Sprint, PODXS 070 Club 160-Meter QRP   
   Great Pumpkin Sprint, Asia-Pacific Fall CW Sprint, UBA ON 2-Meter   
   Contest and the Illinois QSO Party will certainly keep contesters   
   busy this upcoming weekend.  The Run for the Bacon QRP CW Contest is   
   scheduled for October 18.  The ARRL School Club Roundup runs from   
   October 18 to 22.  Please see October QST, page 84 and the ARRL and

   designated a global "center of activity" frequency  in  each   
   of  the  international  hf  bands.  THese are similar to the   
   concept for weak signal calling and other center of activity   
   frequencies.  Three of these have been ratified worldwide.   
      
   THese  center of activity frequencies are where stations can   
   go to render or obtain emergency assistance.   
      
   WHen casually operating or  contesting  on  hf  please  make   
   yourself  aware  of  these  frequencies,  and give them some   
   space. Remember that often stations with emergency needs are   
   not  those  utilizing  high  gain antennas and maximum legal   
   power.
