   This week's bulletin was made possible with information provided by   
   NC1L, The Daily DX, the OPDX Bulletin, DXNL, INDX, Contest Corral   
   from QST and the ARRL Contest Calendar and WA7BNM web sites.  Thanks

   SOVEREIGN MILITARY ORDER OF MALTA, 1A0.  A group of operators are   
   QRV as 1A0KM until January 30.  Activity is on 80 to 10 meters, and   
   possibly 160 meters with three stations active using CW, SSB, RTTY   
   and PSK31.  QSL direct via IK0FTA.   
      
   MAURITIUS, 3B8.  Slavo, SP2JMB and Bogdan, SP2FUD will be QRV as   
   3B8/home calls from February 4 to 24.  Activity will be on 80 to 10   
   meters using CW, SSB and RTTY.  This includes an entry in the   
   upcoming CQ WPX RTTY contest.  QSL to home calls.   
      
   GEORGIA, 4L.  Omari, 4L5O will be a Single Op entry in the CQ WW 160   
   Meter CW contest.  QSL via N3SL.   
      
   BARBADOS, 8P.  Tony, N3ME and Bernie, W3UR are QRV as 8P9ME and   
   8P9UR, respectively, from Cave Bay, St. Philip Parish, IOTA NA-021,   
   until February 24.  Activity is on 80 to 10 meters using CW, SSB,   
   RTTY and PSK.  QSL to home calls.   
      
   BAHAMAS, C6.  Bill, NE1B and Tom, N1GN are QRV as C6ANM from Nassau,   
   IOTA NA-001.  They will be also be active in the CQ WW 160 Meter CW   
   contest.  QSL via operators' instructions.   
      
   MOROCCO, CN.  Operators I8LWL, IK2PZC and IK7JWX will be QRV as   
   5C2L, 5C2P and 5C2J, respectively, from Herne Island, IOTA AF-068,   
   from February 1 to 5.  They will be joined by CN8QY.  QSL via I8LWL.   
      
   CAPE VERDE, D4.  Operators IK5CRH, IK5BCM and IK5CBE will be QRV as   
   D44TBE from Sal Island, IOTA AF-086, from February 2 to 9.  Activity   
   will be on 80 to 10 meters, and possibly 160 meters, using CW, SSB   
   and various digital modes.  QSL via IK5CRH.   
      
   THAILAND, HS.  Wut, HS8JYX is QRV from Paknum Muang Krabi until   
   January 30,  He will be an entry in the CQ WW 160 Meter CW contest   
   as a Single Op/Low Power entry.  QSL to home call.   
      
   MONGOLIA, JT.  Ken, K4ZW is QRV as JT1ZW and JT5DX until February 2.   
   Activity is mainly on the lowbands.  This includes being an entry in   
   the CQ WW 160 Meter CW contest.  QSL via operator's instructions.   
      
   NORWAY, LA.  Special event call sign LA200D is QRV for all of 2011   
   in celebration of the 200 years of the city of Drammen.  Activity is   
   on all band and modes.  QSL via LA2D.  In addition, special event   
   station LM11SKI will be QRV from February 1 to March 31 from Oslo in   
   commemoration of the Nordic World Ski Championship in Holmenkollen.

   LUXEMBOURG, LX.  Operator DL1EKC will be QRV as LX7I in the CQ WW   
   160 Meter CW contest.  QSL via LX2A.   
      
   SABA, PJ6.  Mike, G4IUF is QRV as PJ6/home call until March 3.   
   Activity is on 80 to 10 meters using CW and SSB.  QSL to home call.   
      
   TURKEY, TA.  Special event station TC2011EWU is QRV from Erzurum   
   until February 6 in commemoration of the 2011 World University   
   Winter Games.  QSL via operators' instructions.   
      
   KALININGRAD, UA2.  Members of the UA2 Contest Club will be QRV as   
   RW2F in the CQ WW 160 Meter CW contest as a Multi Op entry.  QSL via   
   DK4VW.   
      
   KAZAKHSTAN, UN.  In commemoration of the Asian Winter Games special   
   event stations UP2011AWG and UN2011G are QRV until February 6.  In   
   addition, other stations are using the UP2011 prefix.   
      
   BERMUDA, VP9.  Seppo, OH1VR is QRV as VP9/home call until February   
   1.  This includes being a Single Op/Low Power entry in the CQ WW 160   
   Meter CW contest.  QSL to home call.   
      
   VANUATU, YJ.  Hermann, DL2NUD and Stefan, DL9GRE are QRV as YJ8GR   
   and YJ8HR, respectively, until February 2.  QSL to home calls.   
      
   THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  The CQ World Wide 160-Meter CW Contest,   
   QRP CW Fox Hunt, NCCC Sprint CW Ladder, REF CW Contest, UBA DX   
   Contest, SPAR Winter Field Day, WAB 1.8 MHz Phone Contest, CW   
   Classic Exchange and the ARCI Fireside SSB Sprint are all scheduled   
   for this weekend.  Please see January QST, page 84 and the ARRL and

   designated a global "center of activity" frequency  in  each   
   of  the  international  hf  bands.  THese are similar to the   
   concept for weak signal calling and other center of activity   
   frequencies.  Three of these have been ratified worldwide.   
      
   THese  center of activity frequencies are where stations can   
   go to render or obtain emergency assistance.   
      
   WHen casually operating or  contesting  on  hf  please  make   
   yourself  aware  of  these  frequencies,  and give them some   
   space. Remember that often stations with emergency needs are   
   not  those  utilizing  high  gain antennas and maximum legal   
   power.
