   This week's bulletin was made possible with information provided by   
   NC1L, The Daily DX, the OPDX Bulletin, DXNL, INDX, Contest Corral   
   from QST and the ARRL Contest Calendar and WA7BNM web sites.  Thanks

   SRI LANKA, 4S.  Mats, SM6LRR will be QRV as 4S7LRG from January 22   
   to February 4.  Activity will be mainly on 160, 80 and 40 meters.   
   This includes a possible entry in the upcoming CQ WW 160-Meter DX   
   contest.  QSL to home call.   
      
   MALTA, 9H.  John, G8HWI is QRV as 9H3JS until January 30.  Activity   
   is mainly on 20 meters using PSK31 with low power.  QSL to home   
   call.   
      
   SOUTH COOK ISLANDS, E5.  Nigel, G4KIU is QRV as E51SC from   
   Rarotonga, IOTA OC-013, on a permanent basis.  He is active on 80 to   
   10 meters using SSB, RTTY and PSK31.  QSL via E51SC.   
      
   CANARY ISLANDS, EA8.  Operators IK1PMR and PA3LEO are QRV as   
   EA8/home calls until March 8.  QSL via PA3LEO.   
      
   MARTINIQUE, FM.  Bernard, F5LBG is QRV as FM/home call from Riviere   
   Salee until February 3.  Activity is generally on 30, 20 and 17   
   meters around 1000 to 1800z using QRP power.  QSL to home call.   
      
   ST. BARTHELEMY, FJ.  Daryl, W7TAE will be QRV as FJ/home call from   
   January 23 to 28.  Activity will be on 40, 20 and 17 meters using   
   mostly SSB during his afternoon and evening hours and possibly   
   during his early mornings.  QSL to home call.   
      
   SWITZERLAND, HB.  Special event call HB60LU is QRV during 2011 to   
   commemorate 60 years of the USKA-Section Luzern.  QSL via HB9DWL.   
      
   CURACAO, PJ2.  Jeff, K8ND and Jim, W8WTS are QRV as PJ2/home calls   
   from Signal Point Contest Station until February 3.  They will be   
   active as PJ2T in the upcoming CQ WW 160-Meter DX contest.  QSL   
   contest call via N9AG and others to home calls.   
      
   BRAZIL, PY.  Special event station PR150PLM is QRV until January 31   
   to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Brazilian   
   scientist, inventor and radio pioneer Priest Landell de Moura.   
   Activity is on 80 to 10 meters using CW, SSB and various digital   
   modes.  QSL via PR7AYE.   
      
   MOUNT ATHOS, SV/A.  Monk Apollo, SV2ASP/A has been active on 40 and   
   17 meters using SSB.  QSL direct to home call.   
      
   PALAU, T8.  Tack, JE1RXJ is QRV as T88RX from Koror, IOTA OC-009,   
   until January 26.  Activity is holiday style on 160 to 6 meters   
   using CW and SSB with a focus on low band CW.  QSL to home call.   
      
   SOUTH ORKNEY ISLANDS.  Members of the Microlight Penguins will be   
   QRV as VP8ORK from January 27 to February 8.  Activity will be on   
   160 to 10 meters using CW, SSB and RTTY with seven stations active   
   simultaneously.  QSL via operators' instructions.   
      
   BURKINA FASO, XT.  Jon, K3QF is QRV as XT2RJA from Ouagadougou until   
   February 14.  He is active on the HF bands in his spare time and   
   during his evenings.  QSL to home call.   
      
   CAMBODIA, XU.  Wim, XU7TZG and Peter, XU7ADW are QRV as XU7KOH from   
   Koh Russei, IOTA AS-133, until January 24.  Activity is on 80 to 10   
   meters using SSB and PSK31.  QSL via ON7PP.   
      
   THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO.  The ARRL January VHF Sweepstakes, BARTG   
   RTTY Sprint, QRP CW Fox Hunt, NCCC Sprint CW Ladder and the YL-ISSB   
   SSB QSO Party are all on tap for this weekend.  The SKCC CW Sprint   
   and QRP CW Fox Hunt are scheduled for January 26.  Please see   
   January QST, page 84 and the ARRL and WA7BNM contest web sites for   
   details.

   designated a global "center of activity" frequency  in  each   
   of  the  international  hf  bands.  THese are similar to the   
   concept for weak signal calling and other center of activity   
   frequencies.  Three of these have been ratified worldwide.   
      
   THese  center of activity frequencies are where stations can   
   go to render or obtain emergency assistance.   
      
   WHen casually operating or  contesting  on  hf  please  make   
   yourself  aware  of  these  frequencies,  and give them some   
   space. Remember that often stations with emergency needs are   
   not  those  utilizing  high  gain antennas and maximum legal   
   power.
