ARLB028 New Section Manager Appointed in New York City-Long Island

Effective January 1, 2013, Jim Mezey, W2KFV, of Carle Place, New
York, will be the new ARRL New York City-Long Island Section
Manager. ARRL Membership and Volunteer Programs Manager Dave Patton,
NN1N, appointed Mezey after consulting with current ARRL New York
City-Long Island Section Manager Mike Lisenco, N2YBB. Lisenco, who
will step down as Section Manager on January 1, was elected as ARRL
   Hudson Division Director last month.

Mezey has served as the New York City-Long Island Section Emergency
Coordinator for the last four years. Prior to that, he was the
Nassau County ARES District Emergency Coordinator.

There is presently a re-solicitation underway for nominations for
the next term of office for the New York City-Long Island Section
Manager position. The Rules and Regulations of the ARRL Field
Organization say that since there were no nominating petitions
received by the original closing date of September 7, 2012,
nominations are then re-solicited. Nominations are due by March 8,
and the 18-month term of office begins on July 1, 2013. Refer to
page 84 of the January 2013 issue of QST for more information.
