   George,

GP> Anyone here remember me from way back when I was the moderator?

Never mind another brother from the other mother.

GP> Anything interesting going on in here?

We're still on this side of the grass...which is always good.

GP> I have a point, but got to get my software configured still, or to get
GP> QWK mail working for me. . .

What OS are you running?? I could remote in via Team Viewer, and help
you get MultiMails set up for QWK Mail. I used to use OLX, but MultiMail
allows you to use Windows Notepad (which is a better way to copy and
paste in URL's), and for longer taglines than OLX.

GP> I'm now only owner/moderator of the FUNNY Jokes and Stories PG-13 echo.
GP> Come on by, swap some funnies. . . All are welcome; add itto your
GP> BBS, & let's ghet as much of Fido buzzing as we can!

I have autoposts set up to recycle every 90 days, with a few posts each
day. Then, I have a daily blooper as well...what I need to do is set up
a deal with a daily "You Might Be A Redneck" Post -- like I need something
   else to do.

GP> I've got quite bored of the original LORD - I discovered it on a DOS
GP> BBS that had version 2.1, & later found version 1.5 (it's on my other
GP> computer -- the IBM DOS Box that's offline *sigh*)-

I have version 4.06 online, but I've been playing L.O.R.D. II more. It
plays faster than the Complete New World IGM under Windows 10 32-bit, and
I think I have all the conflicts worked out (I hope so, anyway).

GP> I'm more into LORD2 now, as it can be fun even if only one other player
GP> (as is the case on most boards I play it on)

I wish I had more time to devote to the games on the BBS...but "life"
   does come calling.

GP> LORD1 is boring to me without a large vibrant & diverse community who
GP> like to drop out of reality for a few hours a week & become a warrior,
GP> or Mage, or Thief (that's me for the strong power move early on, then
GP> when I'm maxed, I go Magic, for the Shield)

The thieving skills are the easiest...just give them a gem. Death Knight
is a 50/50 shot on whether they're innocent or guilty. And, Mystical is
where you get a set number of tries to guess a number between 1 and 100.
Several IGMs I have in the local L.O.R.D. 4.06 gave are now abandonware,
but I was able to register them before the authors disappeared.

GP> Or just head up behind the fireplace in Jack's Restaurant for a prize
    GP> of one million gold.

That only works the first time you enter the game...if you reset your
character, you don't get that. Before resetting your character, it's best
to bank your funds in a vault in a piece of property you own...so, you have
something to start with. Too bad there are only 4 rooms in Pyramid's Place,
which you can access from east of Stonebrook, and northeast of Mother's
   Place, where you start.

GP> Ask the sysclopoius player for the ecxact IGM whereyou can buytop wep &
GP> armour, or ask either one of us to donate to you the $20K ones --
GP> unless you want to work your way up the long way, just for fun, then
GP> let us know to not send you anything. (that's how I did it, now I'm
GP> well equipped, including 10,000 charm to aid flirting in the various
    GP> IGMs that have it)

It's Sysloppious. Seriously, the BBS is a much needed diversion to
all the stress I have in my life otherwise...or I'd go "nucking futs".

GP> Unlimited quests(deliveries) each day & over 20K moves per day. The
GP> higher your quest points go, the more you get paid for each delivery.

Actually, 100 quests, and 30,000 turns per day. With Moonstones you can
get at various places (Tash's Dungeon in the Dark Forest, a tree northeast
of Sosen Village, from the King's Tomb in the Sea Fortress (you have to be
level 12 to enter, and at least 25 alignment), and in the Koshi Village
(initial alignment 100 or higher, and you have to have the Cloud Sword from
constructing the 4 pieces of the Skystaff), you can get 500 turns each.
Once you win the game, with the Gryphon Moon, you can touch it, and get
500 turns back, up to the max per day. I also have a file with a detailed
description of things in the game, instead of just an FAQ.

GP> Check the weather in Little Rock Arkansas,USA: if it's bad/stormy, the
GP> BBS will likely be down for a day or two.

And, with being in tornado season now, that may be the case at times.
We do need the rain to lower the fire danger, but I'd rather do without
   thunderstorms and tornadoes.

GP> If you're Christian, the BBS was originally set up as such, but there's
GP> no obligation to be one nor to participate in Christian activities on
    GP> there.

Actually, the original themes were weather and amateur radio. There are
Christian related items "for those who want them". There's also a new FTN
   message network called ChristNet.

I want to stress that one is not required to take part in, download, or
access the Christian items to stay online. If they do, it's of their own
free will and choice...and what they do with the info, is up to them.

The entire Gospel Poetry Collection is in ISAIAH40.ZIP and at
http://www.wx4qz.net/swj.htm -- over 550 poems to The Glory Of God. There
are a few secular ones on my hobbies, such as the BBS (of course ), ham
radio (or amateur radio, noted below), and square dancing (noted below).

As for weather, I'm not a meteorologist, but an amateur weather enthusiast,
and a Skywarn Storm Spotter (but not a storm chaser). I know enough to be
dangerous...and I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. There
are several weather related doors online as well.

As for amateur radio, I've been in the hobby for over 30 years...and am
an accredited Volunteer Examiner to administer the amateur radio license
exams in the Little Rock Metro Area. There are several ham radio related
doors online, with extra access for confirmed amateur radio operators.
   More information is at http://www.wx4qz.net/hamradio.htm

And, for my other hobby, square dancing, I've been involved for over 35
years. I'm currently the Editor, Webmaster, and Circulation Chairman for
the Arkansas State Square Dance Federation -- its website is located at
https://www.arkansassquaredance.com -- and I joke that "square dancers
do it on the floor, in groups of eight, with no sex, in all positions".
Now, to a non-dancer, it sounds kinky...but to a dancer who dances what's
known as dance by definition (DBD), they know the validity of that
statement. But, the higher level you go, just means you have more moves
to mess up on...there is no competition in the hobby.

    GP> Good thing; I don't put up with being forced. . .

One of the poems in the Gospel Poetry Collection that The Good Lord
has given me is entitled "Absolutely Not". Basically, I am NOT trying
to "cram a Bible down your throat". Now, if you're interested about items
like that, I'd be happy to discuss them...but if that's not "your cup of
tea", that's your choice, and I respect that.

GP> The sysop, Daryl Stout, is happy to discuss Christian topics any time,
GP> on the BBS, in the local email &/or local chat forum, but only if
GP> you're likewise interested to. His BBS has been up for at least 30
GP> years, too, like my origin BBS (below)

    It will turn 30 on May 1, 2022. I don't know if I'll get a cake to
celebrate...the rich frosting tends to set my digestive tract off in
a bad way. It's located at tbolt.synchro.net via a telnet client, or
   via your browser at http://www.wx4qz.net/bbsftlnt.htm

GP> Say hey & tell me what you like best about the world of LORD &/or
    GP> LORD2.

I will say in L.O.R.D. 4.06 (the version I have), and L.O.R.D. II,
you have to have 100 charm to marry Violet. However, with L.O.R.D.,
she can randomly divorce you if she feels like it. With L.O.R.D. II,
you make the choice on whether to divorce her.

As a side note, my character is "married" to her...yet, I've been
"making whoopee" with other females in the inns, etc. -- and she does
   not suspect a thing.

George, do you think she's blonde?? I've heard that "blondes have
more fun, but redheads have more pizazz".
