Live_audio echo rules               Last revision June 4, 2010               Your host and moderator: Richard Webb              By posting in this conference you indicate your acceptance of these       rules. THey are posted on the 15th of each month.              Sound reinforcement is becoming more necessary in a wider range of       activities than ever before. theatrical productions; worship       services and gatherings; concerts; meetings and seminars. There       are many reasons that this is so.        the modern multi-purpose space isn't tailored to provide good       listening to people at all points; climate control systems are       noisy; outside sounds creep in, and worst of all, thanks to higher       ambient noise we're on the average more prone to hearing loss.               The corollary to this is that sound reinforcement is often       misunderstood and solutions improperly applied.               The live_audio echo is here to serve as a forum for discussion of       sound reinforcement techniques and equipment by amateurs and       professionals in the field. A few simple rules will keep       everything friendly and make this a place where fidonet       participants can come to get questions answered and offer solutions       to common sound reinforcement problems.        We ask that you post only in ENglish and avoid theuse of high       bit ascii.              1. USe your real name. IF not sure, check birth certificate or       other legal documents. IF your real name does not appear in       the from: field then it should be plainly visible in the body       of the post.              2. NO off topic posts, including chain letters, pyramid schemes,       test posts, etcetera.        "Where are you from" might be relevant so as to find somebody who       can pay a visit to a poster's facility to help him/her solve a       problem however.        Home recording, home theater and car audio are not topical       to this echo.              3. Personal attacks will *not* be tolerated. Check your flame       thrower at the door. Conduct yourself as a reasoning thinking       adult human being at all times in this echo.              Because of the nature of sound reinforcement there are times when       a poster may suggest a technique or practice which could endanger       others or himself. After all, we're dealing with construction       techniques and electricity quite often. When a poster recommends       such practices debunk the recommendation but don't get personal.               4. IF discussing building and/or electrical codes do attempt to       cite actual regulations. Remember that these vary according to       locale however.               5. Gating of this echo outside fidonet without moderator approval       is forbidden.              6. Usual standards of fidonet posting apply: Single line       signatures, limit your quotes, etcetera.               7. Leave moderating to the moderator and any appointed co-       moderators.               8. Your moderator will ask the poster of any message not       conforming to these rules to curtail such activity once in the open       echo. If the activity persists the moderator or appointed co-       moderators will take steps to see that echo access is denied the       offending poster. All other discussions of moderation issues       should take place via fidonet netmail or email.               THIs echo belongs to those who would use it and find it beneficial.        Your moderator will endeavor to keep its status current with any       requirements for continued backbone carriage and will       perform any functions necessary to see that it remains       enjoyable and useful to its participants.              Should the moderator choose to discontinue activity in fidonet the       echolist password will be turned over to any appointed co-       moderator with an interest in continuing as echo moderator.               If you have recently linked to this conference please post       a netmail to the moderator detailing methods of user connection       you support which might not be listed in the nodelist, i.e.       www, telnet, nntp. Occasionally we provide information about       this conference on related usenet groups and elsewhere.       THE moderator will be glad to list your bbs among these.              The moderator can be reached by fidonet netmail at 1:116/901 or via       internet email at richard.webb@116-901.ftn.wpusa.dynip.com.                     ---        * Origin: The home of the live_audio echo (1:116/901)    |
