   Minicom sounds perfect. I want to keep away from any of the internet   
   technologies if at all possible, and keep this pure serial.   
      
   I see you're in beautiful Penticton. Was there for my honeymoon a couple of   
   years ago, browsing in an awesome second hand bookshop, and riding lazily down   
   a river in a tyre. Canada is such a great country.
