On 12/27/14, Paul Hayton said the following...                PH> On 12/26/14, Darryl Perry pondered and said...        PH>         PH> DP> I don't know how many people out there have a Raspberry Pi, but I        PH> DP> thought I'd put this out there.         PH>         PH> Just got one for Christmas :-)        PH>         PH> DP> I run Mystic BBS on my Raspberry Pi, and until now, I could not run d        PH> DP> doors. Most Sysops who run linux have to run dosemu to emulate dos.         PH> DP> dosemu has not been ported to run on the RPi yet. So, dosemu is not         PH> DP> option for RPi.        PH>         PH> I've been running Mystic under Windows and have not attempted Linux        PH> (yet) but wanted to give it a go with the Pi, so this is all helpful        PH> info thanks..        PH>         PH> DP> But, I have discovered a new app called 8986tiny that is a dos emula        PH> DP> that runs freedos.... on the Raspberry Pi!        PH> DP> If you run raspbian, you can simply do a 'apt-get install 8086tiny',        PH> DP> then run it from anywhere as '8086tiny'        PH> DP> I thought you would like to know. Enjoy!        PH>         PH> Cool, thanks for sharing Darryl. I may yet pick your brains a bit (if        PH> that's ok) as I try and set up a test system on the Pi.              I've been working on it a bunch more. I'm having some issues getting doors       to work. Unlike dosemu, 8086tiny does not redirect com ports to a virtual       port. This may, or may not be a problem. I cannot get lord to run, whether       using BNU fossil, or strait non-fossil setup. It will flash the intro       screen, then dump me off. I haven't figured out why yet.               "No matter where you go, there you are!" - Buckaroo Bonzai              --- Mystic BBS v1.10 A59 (Linux)        * Origin: Cyberia BBS | Cyberia.Darktech.Org | Kingwood, TX (1:106/324)    |
