   I was waiting for you to bring that up.  The FTSC is not an official body in   
   this case since it holds no claim to any character set or encoding.  Also of   
   interest under "4. Known character set identifiers" of that document are other   
   misidentified character sets along with at least one that doesn't exist in any   
   official list of character sets.  That document is seriously flawed.   
      
   I noticed you say in a reply to mark lewis;

   No sh*t!!!  Anyhow vim has absolutely no problems with CORRECTLY identified   
   character sets including LATIN1.  ;-)
