   The above can be verified by iana.org, and if you search their data base for   
   LATIN-1 will show it doesn't exist.  The closest I can find at iana.org are   
   ISO-8859-1-Windows-3.0-Latin-1 (alias csWindows30Latin1) and ISO   
   8859-1-Windows-3.1-Latin-1 (alias csWindows31Latin1).  I did find some   
   unofficial claims that LATIN-1 is an alias fo CP1252 but those cannot be   
   verified by any credible reference.
