   First, please put the main issue into the body as well.   
      
   You cannot resize a running linux, so you would either have to use the   
   install cd as a "livecd", if it contains parted or similar programs   
   (cfdisk does not shrink filesystems), or - the safe alternative - download   
   the mini "gparted" livecd and do it with that one.
