   OK - thanks - but - I am the Original Poster - and am now confused!   
   (That's not surprising - because I'm new to this - and you know what you    
   are talking about.)   
      
   If you have the time and patience please clarify it for me.   
   Which does the most: Automatix2 or Mint?   
   Which is the safer to use?   
   How easy is it to do manually what they do to Ubuntu?   
   In simple terms, what are the aims of Automatix2 and Mint?   
   Who should go for which?   
   (Your links give a sophisticated answer but one I don't understand.)
