Since I upgraded from 5.10 to 6.06 on my laptop I have not been able to
boot from grub setup from that partition. I have another active install on
another partition (Elive 0.5) and if I install grub from that partition it
boots fine - but trying to boot from ubuntu's grub results in the initial
boot screen not appearing and a message that the disk is either bad or
disconnected. I have reinstalled grub to no avail. I recently replaced
the hard disk with a larger unit and after copying everything back (I used
partimage to copy to an external USB hard drive) the new disk acts exactly
   the same way. Any ideas?

   thanks,
   ray
