   You could install IE under wine and run that for them - they'd never know   
   the difference.   
      
   Isn't there an option for doing your own installation? There always was   
   for me with qwest. Once they have the dsl activated and you have the modem   
   (assuming it has an ethernet port for you to use) it's really quite   
   trivial to do and you should be able to figure it out from what they show   
   for MS and MAC instructions.
