I got the same song and dance with sbcglobal which is now att. Your Linux
box will recognize an Internet connection and modem. What
you will have to do is activate your account and dsl modem via the att
setup website. If you have a computer still connected through your old
provider, do the registration and activation with it. Once this is done,
your dsl should be set to work.

I switched from charter cable to dsl. I kept the old connection until I
   had dsl working.

   Hope this helps.

Their CD will only work with Windows or Mac. It will brand your browser
and install unwanted utilities. Fortunately, these do not work with Linux.

   Hope this helps.
