   Well it's really a matter of features. You can read what's in Mint    
   on the web-site. Mint updates on a different schedule so there will    
   be some differences in version numbers of various packages. The    
   web-sites will show when the latest release came out, in each case.   
      
   Ubuntu 'out of the box' comes in for some criticism probably because    
   they have a strict policy on the use of open source software. Things    
   like Pine aren't included (not in Mint either), nor are the codecs    
   necessary to play commercial DVDs included. Maybe Samba is in Mint,    
   I'm not sure, that would be worth checking if you're going to plug    
   into a Windows network. Other Ubuntu choices, like missing vim    
   files, problems in partitioning software and the install script, no    
   Opera and so on, have lead to criticism too.   
      
   Those who advocate Automatix neglect to mention the bugs in those    
   scripts too, you need to know your way around a bit to get that to    
   do all it promises.
