   I think Mint is basically Ubuntu + Automatix2. Automatix2 installs some    
   necessary (but missing) multimedia codeces (MP3,DVD) and browser plugins    
   (Flash 9, Java) and many other important programs.   
      
   My recommendation is: Install Ubuntu or Kubuntu and _finalize_ your    
   desktop with Automatix2. Follow these instructions:
