   Well, the easiest way that I know of _is_ a commandline app. Open a   
   terminal and type this:   
      
       dd if=/dev/dvd of=somefile.iso   
      
   After you press enter your DVD drive should spin up, and after a while   
   you should have your prompt back. Then use your favourite file manager   
   to rename / move the file to a suitable location.   
      
   It doesn't get easier than copying and pasting the above command :)
