   While I agree with all youve said, it was the wrong path anyway. I   
   simply want to switch to a console using CTL + ALT + F? (?=1-6) which   
   does not work.   
      
   That said, changing to my current runlevel should not kill X and not   
   let me get to a console, shoud it?
