   It's a Relysis TL795 17 inch flat panel LCD.   
      
   Do you know, it never occurred to me that might be the problem. I did   
   check the horizontal and vertical ranges, also the refresh rate - all   
   of which are set in xorg.conf within the monitor's handbook limits.
